the holidays are officially over. the lights have been turned off. the decorations are taken down. the tree is now bare. it's back to reality once more. now covid is once again the centre of attraction, no way to ignore it yet again. it's here; it's real.
after the family had lunch, i invited them to wine and cheese over at my apartment. the young ones were not so keen and gave the excuses of seeing their friends, being too tired, and will be working tomorrow. so us the young once ๐ after three hours of rest from the lunch, we tackled the wine and cheese over some serious discussions. time just flew away and before you know it it was time to head back to home where reality awaits. and while the discussions were meaningful and something we would remember in the next few days, we forgot to take photos. so you get a close up of the gathered Christmas decorations in a glass bowl.
Nicely done Vikki. Our tree is supposed to come down on 6th December but it was much later than that last year. It was some time in February before I got around to it. It took me almost 5 hours to get it up and decorated so I need quite a lot of time to get it down and packed away.
I hope that you have a wonderful 2022.
A lovely capture of your decorations. I plan to keep my tree up for awhile just because I love to look at it. Glad you could gather with family. A shame the youngsters wouldn't spend more time with you. From my own experience, they may live to regret it.
Christmas may be over on the calendar but we can still carry the Christmas spirit in our hearts the whole year through!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Forget Covid and concentrate on our blessings!
2022 will be better - it can't get worse!
