Hereford County Hospital

I left home at 7 am this morning for a 9.00 am appointment. I was there all morning having a pre-op assessment and attending a workshop prior to having a hip replacement sometime in the not so near future. I now feel well prepared for the op. I realise I had underestimated the seriousness of this procedure which is typical of me. I might just have to take things easy for a while afterwards.
Good luck when the time comes -- I can empathise with you as I have had one replacement shoulder and one replacement knee and I have a consultation the beg. of Sept re a second replacement shoulder !! The benefit out ways any unpleasantness after the ops I can assure you -- All the best !! Quite a modern building -- at least you have been prepared !!

@beryl Thanks Beryl. It won't be for ages yet. It sounds as if you'll be a bionic woman before long. I didn't know it was possible to have a replacement shoulder.

Hope it does not cause too much discomfort in the meantime - must be a hindrance for someone as active as you

@virtualbrownie Yes it's frustrating. It does slow me down!

Good luck with the operation........ during the weeks that you have to rest & recouperate you will have to catalogue all the photos you've taken this year...... I'm sure that would pass a few hours !!

Can't believe you have hip problems. So sorry. Always think of you as fit and flexible. Brother Chris had a knee replacement today. David had a very successful hip replacement last year.

Oh poor you! What will you be taking photos of when you're in??? The great food? All the wonderful visitors that come to visit you?? Good luck Sue. X

Did an 8 mile walk yesterday with a chap who'd had both hips replaced. Does this help? Possibly not. 365ers will all go through it with you, Sue.

@dizzyd Thank you Helen. It probably won't be until March 2015 unless I get a cancellation. You wouldn't believe the long list of things I'm going to do while I'm resting and recouperating.

@foxes37 @claireuk @yogisue @pamelaclarke @barneyone @lynne53 Thank you all of you for your concern and your encouraging comments. It probably won't happen until March 2015 unless I get a cancellation. I'm already thinking about the photos I can take while in hospital. I wonder if I can smuggle my little camera into the operating theatre - I'd have to sterilize it first of course, that could be tricky.
