Pond Dipping by susiemc

Pond Dipping

The most exciting activity while Charlotte was staying here was pond dipping. She found all manner of things - dragonfly larvae, damselfly larvae, baby newts, caddis fly eggs, pond skaters, whirlygigs to name but a few. This activity was organised by the rangers at the Elan Valley. Everything was provided, including the expertise of the rangers, it was completely free and at the end we were given a voucher for 10% off in the shop at the visitors centre.
What a great service. I'm sure that Charlotte learned something along with fun experience.

What a nice idea for the kids, and I bet a learning experience too with the rangers present. Looks like she's having fun, an added bonus.

Always a lot of interesting things to find in a pond. Nice shot.

Great shot, Charlotte looks so intent on catching something in that net. A fun way to learn about pond life
