Charlotte and I went to visit Castell Coch (The Red Castle). It's on a hillside just outside Cardiff. It's not really a true castle. It actually rests on ancient foundations but it was built in the 19th century and was the fantasy of a very wealthy gentleman, William Burges. No expense was spared. It's a wonderful place to take a 6 year old. We could just imagine Rapunzel in one of the towers. Lady Burges' bedroom is in the far tower and it's actually round!! None of the other rooms are.
Lovely shot, a fairy tale castle, perfect place to take a 6 year old, or an 86 year old. Mum must have been about that age when we went there with her sister
Ahh, lovely shot. Brings back some memories. You're in my neck of the woods because I lived about 8 miles from here for a few years. This is like a fairytale princess castle set amongst the trees, especially when it's lit up at night.
