We haven't seen much of the fish this summer but the late September sun has brought them out. The two yellow ones (as opposed to the one red/orange one) were in Charlotte and Freya's fish tank but they decided they would be happier in Grandpa's pond. They do seem to be very happy.
We had a fairground gold fish which after the kids got fed up with it in its bowl we transferred it to the water trough in the yard which the cows used to drink out if. The fish grew massive....I think fish grow to the size if the area they swim in. These look very happy!
A lovely lot of healthy looking fish ! Soooooo , envious !!!! The heron depleted my stock this spring when I was unable to put a new net to protect them ! Gary and I were tidying and reducing the weed the other day and I could only find ONE gold fish --but quite a few little ones that start life black and take a few years to turn colour !! I sometimes wonder whether to empty the pond and fill it with soil for planting !! don't know which would be less work !!
