A year ago we found this tree fern in the sale section at one of our local garden centres. It didn't look very happy. Tree ferns are expensive and this one was half price so we thought we would take a chance. We wrapped it up well for the winter and look what happened!! I don't think tree ferns like much sun but this one gets a little bit in the late afternoon. It doesn't seem to mind that. It really needs a more open space but we think it looks good in this corner.
Well isnât that doing well, obviously you have it in the right spot. I always laugh when I see these ferns, they are so very expensive in the garden centres yet they grow wild in NZ, there are hundreds of them everywhere. I would live one too but think we are too far north for it to thrive.
