Three years ago my friend gave me some poppy seeds. We sprinkled them in a small area of the garden. We now have them popping up everywhere, sometimes not in the most appropriate places but they're lovely wherever they appear. They're very varied in colour and form and they're different every year, I think this is because they hybridise easily. I thought these looked pretty with the yellow loosestrife behind. This started out as a very small clump from a friend's garden just a couple of years ago and now it looks really impressive.
Lovely - Poppies are so unpredictable ! I always have poppies popping up in the garden - Last year I did not see a single poppy , but this year they are popping up all over - not quite in flower yet !
