When I met Nicola at the garden centre yesterday for coffee and a scone we discovered that the Christmas display had opened that day and it was only the 24Th September!! I don't like it, it's much too early but nevertheless I thought I'd take a picture for 365.
Until I read your narrative, I thought this posting was a mistake. And maybe it is (on the part of the garden centre). I'm still trying to hold on to summer!
