View from the Kitchen Window

This is beech. It doesn't lose it's leaves until the new leaves start to grow in the spring. It looks lovely at the moment in all it's autumn glory but soon the leaves will just be dead and they'll stay that way until spring. This beech hedge is in front of our neighbour's house, if it was in front of our house we would probably replace it with something else which doesn't have dead leaves all winter.
how interesting! the thing tied to the stake in the very front looks rather forlorn

@koalagardens That's a little apple tree. Everything looks a little forlorn at this time of year 😂

I love a beech hedge. We had one at the farm & it always looked good at any time if the year. Shelter too for the front garden. Nothing nicer when the leaves shed & all the lovely buds visible.

I *love* this shot, Sue! It has an impressionist look about it to me with all the dots of colour! Fav (and interesting info about the long-lasting beech leaves)
