The Monkeypuzzle Trees

A close-up of the nine Monkeypuzzle treesin yesterdays post. Apparently Richard Banks who planted these trees had seen them growing in their native Chile in South America and thought it would be appropriate to plant nine of them on Hergest Ridge in Herefordshire, England. I don't quite get his reasoning but I like them there. It's amazing that they've grown so well because it's very exposed.
they have done well... as you say looks exposed. love the horses too

I wonder why nine? They seem to have thrived and fortunately didn't become a pest species either

Monkey puzzle trees are so expensive to buy in garden centres so good to see these thrive!

Beautiful shot and colours. At first sight I thought the horses were part of a sculpture connected to the trees. Strange name for these beautiful trees.
