@peadar Google also tells me that amongst many other names, it's also called mother-die. I didn't realise that it looks remarkably like hemlock, maybe Mother made a soup out of the wrong plant!
Looking glorious. It often does against a bright blue sky but is difficult to capture in an attractive way. You did well. We used to call this mother die when I was young. Perhaps your theory is right!
