Thank you all for your response to yesterdays jellyfish shot. It was such a relief to learn that I'm not the only one to struggle with low light shots, I'm very grateful for your advice.
This shot was taken with my camera and is one of only a few that are half decent.
The booklet tells me that common clownfish live among the tentacles of tropical anemones without being stung. It has a thick coat of special slime so an anemone doesn’t recognise that it is a fish at all.
So bright and colourful and interesting adaptation to protect themselves from the tentacles. While on hols at the beach recently, we swam amongst many fish of various sizes and types. ( fortunately none of the big bitey ones with fins on top ) :))
@hermann That's a relief Sally! My son went to the Maldives on honeymoon and swam with bitey ones (they were very small) He has the most amazing photographs of turtles, fish and bitey ones that were took with a gopro. The quality if fabulous, and well worth investing in one if you go often :)
At first glance, I thought it was a shot of your dinner - looks like fish on spaghetti! Lovely clown fish - they blend so well with their surroundings.
@terryliv@alophoto@terryliv Oh my, how dumb am I, I knew I recognised the fish from somewhere but it never dawned on me!! In my defence, the grandson is only 18 months, in a year or so I shall know everything Disney :)
Lovely shot, not easy to capture a decent photo through glass, but you have nailed it here.
David was stationed at Gan in the Maldive islands in the 1970s for 9 months. He saw lots of sea creatures, some were of the bitey variety too.
