Just down the road from us we have a little mini zoo.
I'm not really a fan of zoos but I was very impressed with this family run one, and their devotion to the animals was obvious. It's been open around six months and is tiny, you cant really call it a zoo. I was chatting to Ben, the owner's son who works there and asked if he would be one of my 100 strangers. He did agree but I could tell he wasn't too comfortable with the idea, so instead I bring you the female meerkat Lexi, who they think could be pregnant. She had no problems posing for me.
Apologies to my non UK friends re the title, we have an online insurance comparison company who struck gold by using the meerkats in their advertising. Perhaps it's not just the UK?
Thank you for stopping by
stranger #3 (I may need to deviate every now and again)
She looks cute. Glad she is in a place where she is well looked after - I agree with you about zoos, but the smaller wildlife centres are generally better
So cute! I am not a fan of zoos, the circus or now the state fair after I found out as soon as cows or goats give birth, the babies are taken away from the mother because they want the milk for human consumption!!! It upsets the mother cow and the newborns cry out but that isn't important! It completely ruined it for me when I found out and confirmed it! I go to the petting zoo and that's about it. I do not drink cow's milk or consume meat (chicken, pork, beef, turkey, etc) either...for 26 years years now. It goes against my love of animals. Fav!
LOL - I really like the idea of substitute stranger portraits!! It still lets you chat to different people and Lexi's absolutely adorable portrait still gives you that reminder of stranger #3.
You could have called this shot ''Smile for the camera" because that's what this meerkat looks like she's doing. They are cute animals. Beautiful capture.
We have the same advert out here so I understand the title.
