...... and in with the old. The whole world seems to be going retro at the moment. Shabby Chic, Arts & Crafts, retro, vintage, antique...... anything but new. New stuff is just so old fashioned it would seem.
We are having a day of out with the old and in with the new as we are having every window in the house replaced today. We have for many years been spending a fortune maintain 12 original 160 year old Victorian Sash windows (which to be honest are more wood filler than wood these days) The wind whistles through the gaps and being single glazed they cost us a fortune trying to keep the house heated. So as much as it pains us to get rid of the houses original features, we have gone for replacements. But they are being replaced with new Victorian style sash windows almost identical to the originals. So it's out with the old and in with the retro for us today.
@kassidypup 8 are in and they are coming back tomorrow to do the other 4 and all the finishing off and tidying up. It's all gone smoothly so far with no major incident..... so fingers crossed that tomorrow goes just as well. :)
Great snap of this window display. It does seem that "new" is not the "in" thing right now. Good news for the old stuff that thought it was washed up and done with. Best wishes on your window project.
