Thinking of Beaver Island, trying to do something different for a photo, but not feeling like anything really worked out tonight. This was a by-product of trying to create an image one on the computer that was reflected in a mirror, along with the glass reflecting the light. In my mind, it was going to be really interesting. About 40 shots later, it isn't happening...
@eyesmile Thanks Gena, for being so encouraging. @vankrey Thanks -- I noticed the color scheme in this one is similar to your shot tonite. @kwind Thanks kwind! @sugarmuser Definitely a night of trying new things, and am not sure how I feel about either one, so appreciate your encouragement.
Haha, love your description and really like the picture !! Beautiful colors in the 'soft' background and the glass is beautiful on the foreground..good comp too
It is an interesting experiment. I think where it falls apart for me is that I can tell the background is not "real", that is the glass is not really on a table at the beach. But I like the colors, I like the lighting and the clarity of focus on the glass is great.
@pum71 Thanks Muriel! So nice of you to say that! @jo13 I love that attitude! Thanks for ignoring my commentary!! @busylady Liked your pun -- thanks for the follow! @olivetreeann Exactly -- I felt like it wasn't enough processing to be over the top, but not real enough to work the way I had in mind. But, always fun to experiment! @stimuloog Thanks! A toast to you!
it may not be what you'd imagined, but this came up quite nicely... the comp works well with the angling of land and sky, the tones are lovely, and the clarity of the glass is perfect!

Thanks northy, Chris, Daryl, Quin, and Jnadonza. It's not the shot I wanted, but your comments help me see what is more positive in it. I could only see it as not what I wanted but am coming to like it more, for what it is, instead of not liking it for what it isn't!
Well, even though its not the picture in your head, it still works really well, the colours are beautiful and your lighting is good..... If at first you don't succeed......try another day.... I often go down this road!

A very tardy thanks to you Arefin, Mary Beth, and RL (not so tardy for you!) -- I do appreciate your viewing and commenting on this one, in particular, since it is so far from what I was trying to create. I've come to like it more over time!
