Because of our friends flight out this morning, we were up early and on our way into town after we'd dropped them off and picked up three sunflowers at the weekly (very tiny) farmers market (relevant to the end-of-day shot in my extras album). The sun over the lake was beautiful so Jim dropped me (and my camera) off at the public beach while he ran our errands (good person that he is). It was empty of people, but there were lots of seagulls (the tiny-looking birds just at the shoreline) and geese. A sailboat was leaving the harbor but other than that, it was a still as still could be. Nice way to start the day!
If interested, my 'end of day' photo is in my extras album: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-08-15
love the exposure (contrast) on this - and yes the sparkling water got me too, like diamonds. I can sense the stillness and peacefulness of the moment - great capture!
Wouldn't you have such a marvellous time looking at this while waiting to be picked up, I love it when that happens! The sparkling blue water receives my fav!
Fun shot! Reminds me of the way the teenage girls used to flock together at the pep rallies, in the lunch room and at the soccer games when I was teaching.
Definitely a great start to a day! I love the natural position on the right of the geese and then the man made position of the buildings on the left in the distance.

Thanks for commenting! These geese are funny to watch, but they really are a pain to have around the beach as they are not the cleanest things around! But that morning, I couldn't have been happier to be able to have them in that exact position.
@jodimuli Thank you for faving, Joey!
