Thank you for your wonderful comments on the Colorado Springs series yesterday. I shared your comments about the flight collage with my brother who wondered, "Why did they think you needed to be brave to fly with me?" Fun teasing him (he's my youngest brother -- long tradition of teasing). Here is one more -- also taken with settings for CSC-35 (oops, just noticed in settings that it was 200 ISO, but 250 shutter speed, but it was all manual!). This one is actually from behind one of the schools off Academy Street (or avenue or whatever), from their parking lot. Our views never looked like this from our high school in the Chicago suburbs!
Am off to catch the last flight home so posting quickly. Will catch up on viewing and commenting this week.
@taffy -- oh, poor you!! These days, though, I've become more mellow about delays. I used to get so anxious, but now, I figure, safe is always best. And I'm sure you have toys to distract you.
@jyokota Just figured out that DFW has free wi-fi. That helps. It's the last flight out and they've said they are going to get a new plane. Hoping I get home by midnight or so!
Stunning capture Taffy!! I love the light on the mountain tops!! What a beautiful place to live!! I would never put my camera down if I had this on my doorstep!!
Amazing geology - so great to see it through your eyes. When I see pictures like this I think of the pioneers and how far we have come in so many ways.
@kimshots I agree about thinking of pioneers when I'm out west. Just imagining what it took to get over the mountains, or in the desert, to find water...wonder what they would think if they could have time traveled to today?
Oh this is a lovely mountain capture, Taffy - the light on the rock is awesome. Definitely best viewed large.
Surprised those mountains are not wearing a coating of snow.
@jankoos Thanks Jan! I love the mountains and am hoping to spend a little more time out there. I don't visit my mom and rest of the family out there enough.
