Hi, I'm an East Side Beaver Island Dragonfly. I like the swamps over on this side, the cool blades of grass, the extra mosquitoes and sand flies, the quieter side to the lake, and being close to the golf course. I play a game called "watch out for the big white balls" with my dragonfly friends. We are known for our really cool eyes on the sides of our head. I think we are quite attractive, so hope this works for Taffy's Get Pushed Challenge from Mei to look for unusual beauty.

From Taffy: Thanks for the analysis of the two hay bale shots. I guess it does all come down to personal preference, which shouldn't be a surprise to me but always is! Clarity, blur...just different options, not better or worse, I guess. Your comments were really helpful!
@mei_photography I just posted two examples for unusual beauty. Will keep thinking about options, but these really struck me today as fitting the challenge. I know I've posted these elsewhere, so am going to try to keep thinking of something besides insects -- but they are so perfect for this challenge. Fun one!
@pamknowler Oops...I bet you're right about that! I forgot that we have both on the island. Mmmm...change the titles and stories? Or just maintain my ignorance for the purpose of narrative? Suspending disbelief time!
Great focus and DoF... amazing, that this guy's eyes are in focus (as are his hairy legs), but the rear body is blurry. Almost surgical DoF. :) Beautiful.
Can't stop staring at this one -- such interesting lines and angles ... the amazing details and clarity of the face ... the wonderful sense of depth ... Fav!
