My Get Pushed partner, @soseema, asked me to take a photo of something that represented power. I've thought about this all week and though I have a few other ideas, have been hoping to have the opportunity to photograph power in nature. Tonight's sunset fit the bill, from my perspective -- sun power, water power, wind power -- there they all were. Three separate photos, each from 3 separate shots combined using HDR, then imported to picmonkey to make the triptych.
@soseema Hi Seema! I hope this meets your idea for the challenge. I have another idea I'm going to try to capture Saturday on our way back to Chicago if I can pull it off. Power that isn't in nature...
What you have done here, Taffy, is really amazing: you have taken one beautiful bracketed image and split it into three images, each of which can hold its own. The overall composition is excellent, each individual composition is great, and the colour grading from gold on the right to blue on the left makes each part unique. Well done and well deserved fav. (Lovely framing too, by the way)
Beautiful composition and I like it divided into the three images! The framing is wonderful too - looks like a picture frame with a bevel- cut mat.
What did you use to create the tryptich and the frame?
Fantastic capture and perfect for the "get pushed" task. Absolutely love it., I'll have to look at picmonkey, I really love how you have separated into 3 pieces. Brilliantly done, instant FAV :-)
Taffy, you've excelled yourself in this triptych. Your imaginative conceptualisation of power is very well exemplified in the three images. I'm lost in admiration at the way you've processed and compressed nine images into a single concept. Fav
Wow Taffy what a wonderful job you have done here! Each shot is fab individualy but put together in the triptych really makes you look at each shot and I am blown away by the power of the final image. Stunning! Fav! Safe journey back to Chicago!
Taffy - this is wonderful. There is such depth and light in this photograph and the scale really does let you see the power in nature. The triptych effect is brilliant because it as though the viewer is behind a window trying to capture but unable to contain that power. Fab.
I saw this on the Trending Page and knew this was yours. What a fantastic Hilliard style image. I love the power of Mother Nature here, an instant fav! Wonderful!!
@ericdibosco Thanks Eric -- I always love to read your comments! For this image, I actually used 9 shots, 3 for each vertical scene. I stood on the beach (without a tripod as the idea for it occurred to me after I'd already taken single shots at higher speeds and didn't need it) and did 3 bracketed shots for each of them, using a spot on the horizon to try to keep them as even as possible. A tripod would have helped ALOT! I was really excited to see how these came out -- and for once, couldn't wait to post it.
@leanne333 Thanks so much for the visit and comment. I ended up revising the description based on yours and Eric's comments as this was actually done from 9 images. I did use picmonkey to create the collage and then do the overall frame once they were combined into the single image. @redy4et Thanks as always, Elizabeth!! I was pretty excited when I finished this so I am so glad you liked it. I used picmonkey for the triptych and then once it was done, clicked 'edit' which takes you to the main picmonkey editing screen. From there, I chose the frame and the modified it just a bit.
Wonderful triptych, Taffy. Fav!
I'm now at the point of stopping with my 365 project and so I want to let you know that I've learned so much from your great comments and wonderful pics. Thank you for enriching my life! All the best and take care! :)
@stimuloog Oh gosh...I'm sad to think you are leaving. I feel like I've followed you forever! All the best to you and I hope you continue enjoying photography for many years to come! I so appreciate your comment to me. Thank you!
A master class in how to produce a stunning triptych. Each panel stands on its own but combines with the others to make an even more impressive whole. For me the power within the images is in the sky.
Wow Taffy, what a great triptych to symbolise power in nature. Very cleverly put together, I love how you have used a triptych with separate shots. Fav
I am trying to keep more balanced this year with 365...so I am only posting once a week and use that day to catch up on everyone. I know it messes with PP for everyone when I am so late to comment and fav...but I have to do it this way at least for now
@pennyp Thanks for your visits and comments today, Penny! I appreciate it. For this shot, I actually combined three different images, each of which were combined using HDR from 3 images. That's why it doesn't quite align from photo to photo.
Congrats on #2 for the week - I knew this would be on TT. Truly wonderful work, some of the best work I have ever seen on 365. I'd fav it again if they let me.

Did I see you on TT again too? Many congrats:0)

Love your final image and I think it fits your challenge perfectly.
