When the sun sets over the city, the glows are sometimes as interesting as clouds over Lake Michigan. Taken from outside on the balcony -- I'm noticing that when the weather is warmer and it's not windy, it's not quite as scary as when it was cold, icy, and windy. Or, I'm getting used to it as our time here winds down.
Alternative shot of the light painting, but ETSOOI version: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2015-04-15
There's a very old & stately hotel in the town of Bisbee, Arizona called The Copper Queen. I'd say the likes of this would steal her thunder! Magnificent
Fabulous shot, makes a very interesting abstract and the reflections of the sunlight on the windows is stunning. Congratulations on another balcony shot. You must be getting more used to it now.
Funny! I shot the sunset last night, too...no skyscrapers in the far west burbs though! The colors were remarkable. You've captured them well. I like the full framing of portions of the buildings.
@onewing Thanks Babs! Yes, the balcony remains scary but I've overcome going out for a bit on the quiet days. I wouldn't want to stay out there long so am limited in what I'll set up and photograph.
@lesip Thanks Leslie -- I will be glad to have the work of getting the house ready behind me, so in that sense, looking forward to it, but I really like this condo we are in and wish we could just stay.
@sailingmusic Thanks for the lead re the movie -- it's one that looks interesting given the ads I've seen. Good to know someone who actually saw it and thought it worthwhile!
@taffy Actually I did have one very brief stopover at O'Hare that turned into an overnight at the airport hotel about 10-12 years back. But that's not really being IN Chicago!
