While visiting family this weekend in Colorado Springs, we went to the Van Briggle Festival in the building that at one time housed a now-famous (at least in the west) pottery production company. It's on a large park, across from Colorado College and is actually now the maintenance headquarters for the college. In the Springs, a Van Briggle fireplace is prestigious (the tile surround), and many of the buildings have tile markers that were created at the turn of the century to mid-century. It was a typical Colorado day -- deepest blue skies anywhere!
Catching up from the trip...nice to be home again.
Well, that must be the most artistic maintenance building in the whole United States! Such beautiful tile work- I can't imagine why the company didn't stay there. Amazing building- and you're right about the skies! Great collage!
Wonderful details. So often we concentrate so much on the whole, that we forget to photograph all the great little details that go to make the whole so special.
I'm surprised you only have one favourite for this image (so far). It works as individual images but more importantly within the collage the images not only support each other but form a strong overall pattern.
