For our mentor group artificial light, b&w theme. The center of a large mum (I think that's the flower) that in color is a bright orange. Processed for b&w in Silver Efex.

Finally getting to a shot I took earlier this week using my speed-light and a Rogue reflector that attaches to the speed-light but allows me to adjust where the light is hitting -- it does so much diffuse the light and re-direct it so that it is softer or harder depending on the angle. Sorry I've been so remiss in getting to this theme! Some additional ideas to be tried this week!
Wow what fabulous shapes and patterns! Love it! You have really brought out all the detail! I never thought to use my reflector with my flash when I was doing Sophie' s portrait. It may have helped with the glare. I wish I knew what I was doing with the flash! Fav for this shot!
@pamknowler I agree -- I'd forgotten about the reflectors I had -- bought them and never used them much, but am trying to do more with them. I thought today at the Art Institute will be good as it's mostly artificial indoor light there. No flash allowed of course.
You worked out the lighting really well. How do you hold your reflectors? I have them but find holding them unwieldy and I need them for portrait shooting I will be doing for a couple's Christmas cards when I get back from CA. I think this shot would be even better focus stacked. I find the dof a bit blurry making to my eyes...maybe that is my virus?
You have such interesting equipment for your artificial light! This is so lovely with the rings of petals. I think I agree with @jpittenger Jane about the focus, but I love the lighting and idea.

Focus stacking would have been a good idea -- I need to learn to do that but have watched a tutorial and think it is quite do-able. I just never think about it.
Jane, for the reflector, the one I used has a velcro strap that goes around the base and then I can bend 'stays' in the reflector to gear it in any direction I need to. The ones off camera and harder to use without someone to hold it for us.
Thanks so much for the link. I have something similar that diffuses and attaches to flash but I'm wanting something to hold a reflector when I'm not using flash. I will search farther
