More from Barcelona (I'm back in Chicago for those who were wondering). These are the iconic arches that you see if you google Park Guell. The complement the Gaudi structures that reflect his over the top taste, and served as trestles to support a pathway above (I think) and a fun place for kids to play in the park or couples to stroll or friends to hang out. Junko and I took about a hundred shots of these before we ran out of time. Fascinating arches that change with the lighting and where you stand. Junko's view from the outside is also fascinating: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2015-12-22
Wow how amazing is that! Crazy drunken arches! Love them! What fabulous photo opportunities Barcelona has to offer! Wonderful textures and a great image! Fav!
A wonderful capture of these crazy arches ! -- love the colour and textures I never knew they existed when I visited Barcelona but then I was only there for a day visit when in holiday !
When you look at the depth, variety and imagination in Gaudi's work - it is almost impossible to believe that all that came out of the head of one man.
Wonderful textures and shapes... the stone appears to be flexible and almost seems to stretch. What fabulous architecture.... Excellent shot, highlighting the repetition of the arches. Sorry you are under the weather, too... it must be a seasonal requirement! Hope the OTC meds are able to conquer.
I never took any art courses in college or visited many art museums as an adult. But seeing some of these artist through the lens of your camera is enlightening. I tend more to a taste like Jamie Wyeth paintings. But it is fun to expand my education even at the late age. This is obviously a man who dreamed big.
Wonderful texture in the stone.
Fascinating structure...
