Pano is combined from 5 shots, using Photoshop to process. @ukandie1 and I enjoyed our Tripod Monday at the John Hancock building last night. As the sun set, the interior reflections made it difficult to photograph the skyline without the interior showing up. But it was fun trying! And this was the first time I have used PS successfully to create a pano. This is looking south from the observation deck - probably about the 95th floor.
Thanks for your patience as I'm slowly catching up!
I know the problems of taking photos like this and I reckon you've made a darned good job of this pano. It gives a good sense of the contrast between the CBD (or whatever you call it) and the suburbs. You live in a very impressive city.
Great view. If only we had ways to show images more than 1024 pixels on the long side. Yes, it can be awkward shooting though windows especially in such places. I have been unlucky on occasion to have to shoot through dirty windows too. :(
@maree_sanderson I knew I was taking photos for a pano and would likely have to crop above and below, so the focus was on the line of buildings just above the bottom third. Then, I used about 50mm (48 on the zoom) so that it would have the least distortion and get the widest amount of information.
Great as a pano, I never think of doing them (apart from the one time I did and posted it here). I just posted something from the same spot in one of my extra albums.
