A Busy Night for the Deer by taffy

A Busy Night for the Deer

Visiting a friend who lives 'inland' where deer visit nightly. I was photographing her and her dog so only had an 85mm. I ended up deciding that rather than a closeup I liked the way they were framed by the surrounding forest.
How lovely to see the deer from your friend's house. Great to see them in their environment. A beautiful serene image! Fav!

Like you I usually long for the stunning close up, but have recently been trying to do more with putting things in their environment. Beautiful lighting and I love how you framed them with the tree.

Taffy this is amazing!! I saw it small on my phone first but was leaving for work. Now on my monitor it looks glorious. The colors/tones are unique - so purple-y without being really purple... Awesomeness.

I quite agree with you - this is beautiful framing. I often zoom right in without a thought for the surrounding and have to tell myself to look further around. Such a lovely scene and the light in exactly the right place to showcase the deer.

That's how I see them quite often too- and I'm happy because that means they are not eating my flowers! Nice shot- very foresty!
