I was so impressed with the range of cacti in Anza-Borrego State Park. Miles and miles of dry desert soil, but these hardy plants somehow grew. Processed in LR and Topaz Impression 2.

It reminds me of the Acaia trees in Israel. They are stuck out in the middle of such arid ground and green as any tree around here. I think I remember that their taproots can go down for a mile to find water. Must be the same with these. Good shot!
