Taken as the sun was setting. It turns out it isn't that unusual to see a bird on a cactus as Junko and I saw a few more when we were out this morning. And I'd thought this was unique. Processed in textures to bring out the colors of the sky.
Gorgeous photo, Taffy! That's called a Cactus Wren, and as I scrolled into the photo, I wondered who I knew here who was living in Arizona! Those look like saguaro cactus, and in the states, Arizona is the only state they grow in! If you're watching a movie that's supposedly set in Texas and you see a saguaro, you'll know it wasn't filmed in Texas!

Excellent shot Taffy! Yes, a long time ago when I was in Az. I was surprised to see birds perching on the Saguaros. I couldn't imagine how they managed to do it with the prickers!
@darylo Baja is a drop-down from California so now it can go to an identification table on Google! I spent my high school years in Tucson, and the "cactus birds" were the wrens and Dwarf Owls could be found in the holes in the cactus. A "barren desert" is anything but!
@special4k Now that we've been watching for them, they are everywhere! I'm glad I didn't know that when I was so happy with what I thought was my totally unique image! Thanks for the visit and kind comment.

well done! :)
