I thought this little damselfly looked so delicate as she hid amongst the grasses. I thought this was a fun result, focusing primarily on her eyes as she peered above the bud she appeared to be hanging onto so tightly. Best on black and a little larger. I think this is my favorite of my dragonfly/damselfly shots from Barney's Lake.
Because your work is consistently excellent, I rarely comment. Now I must because in addition to it's other excellent characteristics, this could be a textbook example of how a small object of a different color, shape and focus is where the eye lands immediately upon first viewing.
@fotoblah And I rarely reply 'thank you' since it seems so mundane and overused. BUT, thank you so much for your wonderful comment on this shot. It means a lot!
Love this one - If I remember you have done a lot of birth photography. I have your e-mail since we communicated in the past regarding a camera setting challenge
@stevecameras Many thanks! It was my favorite as well -- couldn't believe the eyes were so sharply focused when I got home. I'd hoped...but didn't expect it.
Your Beaver Island photos are showing new sides through your photography -- and that's a challenge since you have already documented so much of it. Love the point focus here.

A stunning image - I immediately thought of a game of hide and seek.
The green and the focus fall-off in the background is lovely.
