The lake was more like a pond tonight. I loved the stillness of it. I took this from our beach looking over our neighbor's boat holder (I'm sure there's an actual name for those), with about 30 geese floating beyond and a lone bird overhead. If only there hadn't also been a cloud of bugs!
I'm glad you enjoyed my lily posts. Another one bloomed today!
When I first looked at this shot I 'saw' a table and chairs. Amazing what the brain does at times. Love the shot with the mirror-smooth water and gorgeous soft colours. What an idlyllic spot.
Beautiful layers of tones in this peaceful scene! That cloud of bugs would have stopped Tim from going outside, he is such a city guy! He struggles with the thought that we do not have bug screen on our windows in the UK!
@ukandie1 I can totally relate to Tim's feelings about them. I hate the feeling of them landing on me! Or breathing them in (ick!). And now it's raining so no outdoor stuff for the next few hours and possibly days...
What a wonderful place to relax - as long as there's no bug invasion! But this conveys a beautifully tranquil setting, with its muted pastels and that pinkish haze on the horizon. I like the inclusion of the boat in its - cradle? - for foreground interest.
I can't believe I only faved this without making a comment. I am in total agreement with Sarah @pixiemac. I would love this on my wall. It is so incredibly serene and relaxing. Fantastic capture.
Beautiful! What an interesting structure and a gloriously tranquil scene... Do you get early morning fog? This would be awesome in an early morning long exposure :)
