The RFD Boys, a bluegrass (and other styles) band from Ann Arbor, Michigan, are performing tomorrow at the Beaver Island Community Center. We were treated tonight to a small more intimate performance at a 'porch party' at our friends who are hosting the band members during their stay on the island. It was quite a magical evening! This photo really doesn't represent all the talent and fun, but I loved the informality of the bass player playing barefoot throughout the performance. I suspect tomorrow night, they'll all have to wear shoes...
@elkereturns I ended up with 23 images of the band and audience that I liked, but thought this one captured the feel of the event as much as any with people in it.
Ha ha, love this and I totally sympathise with him. I find when I have conducted orchestra before, I couldn't handle the constriction of shoes. So there I was, posh frock and baton in hand, and bare feet! But oh it helped me!!
It can be wonderful when it all comes together, like harnessing the wind in the sails. You can't make it happen but you can use what's there to great effect. I love it!
