Since today we are under fog and drizzle, I returned to the many photos taken on Sunday. This was one of my favorites. The geese suddenly appeared and I was so glad they were in focus and the fellow was still on the pier. You can see that the ice that day was along the shoreline and inlets while the rest of the lake was just cold.

Ha ha ha, I laughed out loud when I read your title! Apply scary music and a few seconds later the next shot is the guy running for his life, hat flying off!
@maggiemae The difference being on the beach versus being in a skyscraper on the 95th floor 2 days later...hadn't even realized I'd taken the long-lens skyscraper shot of the place where we'd seen the geese til a few days after both!
