"In Happier Days," thinks Camera

Camera is resting comfortably at the camera repair shop, hoping for a good diagnosis and able to return home in a few weeks. She's thinking of good memories of her time in Grand Canyon, especially that day in the fog and snow. She thanks you all for your well wishes. She says she's not worried I'll abandon her, though she did hear that I have rented the new Nikon mirrorless with an adaptor for my lenses for a week starting Wednesday.
oh, no! what happened?

After upgrading to a newer DSLR I converted my first DSLR to IR so my oldie became a new star. Funny how we get attached to them isn't it.

Do like your set-up there - made an interesting shot including it. Thinking good thoughts for its recovery.
October 23rd, 2018
@summerfield It broke halfway into the Grand Canyon trip...hoping it's the shutter and thus repairable

My word Taffy, that's quite some tripod head and set-up. I admire your fortitude carrying all that around, I don't do tripods these days.

Forgot to say that I sincerely hope your camera doesn't have anything terminal and/or hideously expensive wrong with it. Fingers crossed.

Great shot of this amazing tripod head and set up! It must weigh a ton!
October 23rd, 2018
Sending good karma for a complete recovery!
October 23rd, 2018
Hope your camera is in the best "hospital" :)
October 23rd, 2018
Oh dear hope its repairable
October 23rd, 2018
ooh will be very interested to hear how you find the mirrorless. as will your portrait subject, i imagine. hope she rests easy ;)
October 23rd, 2018
The mirrorless system is rather interesting. Though it's also rather expensive... Good wishes for everything!

I have a digital display but take 99% of my pictures using the view finder. I find holding my elbows tight to my body while the camera is at my eye helps me steady thhe shot.
October 23rd, 2018
Haha - get well soon!

Ha ha ! a wonderful capture for this image "in the life of a camera " . Hope camera will regain good health after a few weeks diagnosis , repair and rest !! A lovely image - fav

You made me laugh out loud with your narrative!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜Ž Home soon, little dreaming camera.......
October 23rd, 2018
Hope you are reunited soon - love the narrative
October 23rd, 2018
Maybe she should be worried about your loan of the mirror-less. My SLR has only gathered dust since I bought mine.
October 23rd, 2018
Great shot and narrative. I'm interested in how you get on with the mirrorless camera. I love mine.
October 23rd, 2018
Great capture and narrative...I hope that your camera will be returned to you sooner rather than later.
October 23rd, 2018
Oh I hope the rented one doesn't out do the beloved!!
October 23rd, 2018
Lovely capture, did you rent the Z6 or Z7, would love to hear your thoughts (even though I'm an Canon shooter)
October 23rd, 2018
@leonbuys83 Only the Z7 is available for now, and no lens. So that's what I'm renting. But for purchase -- if I end up going that direction, I'm thinking the Z6 would be sufficient as I don't print larger than about 16 X 20. The 24-70 is an f4 lens, so a bit slower than what I'd like, and I'm disappointed not to be able to try that out while I'm renting, but I think all this is too new. I will share my experience and am excited to have the chance to try it out - it arrives tomorrow!
