We came upon a sleeping leopard in its tree. I couldn't help but notice how sweet and peaceful he looked, compared to the one I saw catching a reebok and taking it up the tree. Then, I noticed his rather rounded tummy and realized he was resting after probably a very large meal.
Thanks as always for your encouraging comments. I will continue posting from the safari as promised (and because the only photography I'm involved in at the moment is culling and processing thousands of photos from the trip).
Apparently leopards top off a meal of fresh reebok with a few rounds, maybe many rounds, of beer. And maybe some ice cream. You'd be sleepy too. Outstanding capture.
Another gorgeous shot. Boy, he has had a full meal and I am happy to not know what it was. Beautiful markings, strong thick legs and big paws too. Time for a nap! :) Fav.
What a beauty Taffy! He looks so full no wonder he is having his afternoon siesta! A fabulous capture of one of my favourite animals! I cannot imagine the excitement of seeing him for real - I think I would be in tears of joy! Lol! No I’m not going - I am loving you sharing this with us!
I do hope you were someplace safe taking these pictures as I have seen some frightening incidents of people on these photo rides. I have to say I was glad you got home because I do need my condo views of Chicago fix every once and a while. Meanwhile these photos are great.
Such a glorious capture of health and contentment , lounging after what seems to be a feast .How can you but admire these beautiful creatures ! A beautiful composition - fav
That belly is amazing! Wonder how long it will take to digest such a huge meal. Nicely composed and I love it that so far all of the animals you have posted are doing something interesting
@joansmor We were always totally safe in our vehicle. Our guide never took chances, even down to being an excellent driver. It was truly remarkable how little the animals showed any interest in humans/cars. It's like they knew we had nothing to do with their lives so they essentially ignored us. And they had right of way on any road so we never interfered with their movements.
If that cat is not a pregnant female, than, indeed, she/he is well sated! While killing a large animal seems shocking, it's not as though someone will deliver meals 3 times a day! As you noted, you begin to see a rhythm to daily life there...
