Amaryllis2 in High Key B&W by taffy

Amaryllis2 in High Key B&W

I have to admit that I've never been quite as intrigued by a plant before. Amaryllis1 has clearly responded well to having a role model and its single stem has now grown about an inch. And Amaryllis2 has five flowers in full bloom. They totally entertained me on a very gray day in Chicago (yes, a bit pathetic).

Processed in LR, Luminar4, and Silver Efex.
I'm glad to hear that both flowers are doing what they're meant to do! Beautiful black and white shot.

A lyrical shot. Fascinating, how the one plant inspires another. Not pathetic, at all.

Gorgeous processing Taffy! They are such delightful plants with lots of interest as they grow and as they fade and die.

This is a beauty. I am not at all keen on Amaryllis and before seeing this picture thought them to be ugly and distasteful. But apparently not so. Love the black and white rendering and the way the patterned edges stand out so well.

@helenhall So interesting to read your comment. The flowers themselves are, to me, more challenging to photograph than I found to be the case for the buds and the bulbs. What's fascinating is how they seem to grow before my eyes and it's been fun having the two at such different stages. They remind me a lot of lilies which I've always loved. But lilies flowers lend themselves to photos in a way that these, all bunched together, do not. I'm going to keep trying though!
