It's not unusual to see photo shoots around the city, but prior to the shutdown, you wouldn't see this as they'd be taking their lives in their hands! Usually 8 lanes of traffic whizzing by, along with dozens of pedestrians, cyclists, runners, and so forth. This has been one of the most bizarre scenes I've seen in any drive around the city. Better on black.
@jgpittenger We were driving and I had asked Jim to go slow to shoot some of the empty streets, and all of a sudden, there they were!! I got 2 shots off before we were by them, so a lot of luck was involved in the initial capture. I was totally shocked to see them!
great opportunity for them. here, there'll be a cop to tell them "move along!" as they're supposed to be staying home and isolating! but what an incredible shot, miss taffy. aces!
What a great opportunity for a one of a kind capture though! I'd take advantage of it for sure. Is that the Vista Tower under construction in the background?
Wow what an incredible sight Taffy! Amazing what some people will do for a photo! Let’s just ignore why the streets of Chicago are empty! There are always idiots about! So sad - Chicago looks so beautiful!
It seems very logical to me that a photographer would take advantage of the lack of traffic to get this shot. I think I'd be taking shots of the buildings from the middle of the street if I thought I could be fast enough as to not draw attention to myself! Good catch!
I’m not sure I’d dare even during lockdown. What a show. Well captured. Hope you didn’t risk your life getting the shot
.
Come and enjoy the calm and tranquil times in quiet down town Chicago ?
