It was my turn today to lead a 'tour' with two close friends - one in Montana and the other Hawaii. One of our Pandemic traditions is 'traveling' together, every three weeks, to some place in the world, via Zoom. Today, I led a tour from a trip to China Junko @jyokota and I had made November, 2016. As I worked on the 'tour,' I found myself re-editing some of the photos, using knowledge I've gained over the years. This scene is from a sunrise climb outside Yangshuo at Xianggong Mountain. It was an amazing experience and thanks to our guide who was a lot faster than us, we had a great spot for our tripods. It's surreal seeing the photos now and thinking back to how fortunate we were to be able to travel!
Stunning reward for your early morning labours. I love the shape of those misted peaks. Yes, you are right. I find myself yearning to travel again and yet knowing it's not possible for a while now. How privileged we were to do it so easily before. Thankful for photographs that bring back times and places so clearly to the memory.
Sunning landscape. I wonder how different travelling will become and how long it will be before we are able to confidently return to travelling the globe.
Incredible, incredible, incredible photo... super fav. I so miss traveling... perhaps we will have the health/safety to do so again... soon. Love your pandemic tradition... sounds fascinating.
How much we took for granted not knowing it could all be grabbed away by a little virus. What a fun way to relive favorite trips - making lemonade out of lemons.
Completely transported me back to the spot where we were standing, marveling, and thinking how fortunate we were to be seeing the sunrise here. I love your new processing, too. This inspires me to go back and look at mine, too.
