For reasons that were totally serendipitous, I was driving home tonight from the other side of the island and had my long lens with me. I'd driven by Barney's Lake hoping to spot some deer and instead saw this very clear moon over some encroaching contrails. It was as clear a night as we've had in weeks. And it was a joy to simply be out photographing!
A great shot. I always wanted to take a shot like this but never had a lens this long. Back in the analog days I took a black and white photo on film with a borrowed Zeiss 500 lens. That was interesting too.
