Just having a bit of fun with editing. This is the third of the snowflakes that turned out when I was photographing them in mid-February. I wanted to post all three of them, as each is so different it's quite incredible to compare them.

@cooperperich A lot of luck! I took over 250 shots and 3 of them turned out well enough to post, with some editing. So 247 were massive or moderate fails! I used a macro lens, had good lighting that day outside, and the snow was fairly light and fluffy.
@ksmale I agree, Karen -- much harder than I had thought it would be. I think the reason I was able to get the three to work is (A) the snow was light, (B) there was no wind, (C) it was bright outside, (D) I took hundreds of shots, and (E) in the hundreds of shots, with many snowflakes per shot, it just takes patience finding that one that is in focus and worth cropping and editing. I don't think I'll do this often even if I could, as it's just so time consuming.
