Where's My Dinner? by terryliv

Where's My Dinner?

Still in the Old Timers Mine: Jim O'Neil sits at the dinner table of his underground home waiting for his dinner to be served. Of course in Jim O'Neil's time, the only lighting down here was provided by candles and kerosene lamps. As I understand it, most of the furnishings and fittings are as they were when the mine ceased operating as a mine.

There is a dormant uranium mind an hour's drive from our house that we've toured once, but there were no tableaus like this one has. I think they really help to imagine the way it was.

@cejaanderson This was one of many tableaus depicting both the mining operation and life underground throughout the Old Timers Mine Jane. It was a great insight into life here in the early 20th century
