Day 10 - Kings Canyon

I love maps.

I should have posted this map of the walks back at the start. Follow the blue dots off to the left for the Rim Walk and the blue then red dots for the Creek Walk along the creek and the canyon floor.

They look like quite the scenic walks. How challenging were they physically?

Fantastic. Challenging in the heat, I imagine!

Ah - now we can see where you've been taking us!

@mbrutus The Creek Walk is very easy. The Rim Walk is graded moderate to difficult with a very steep climb up 500+steps to get things going (see https://365project.org/terryliv/365-year-3/2021-05-29 ) and then a mix of flat rocky terrain and rocky elevation changes up and down, especially when you cross over the crevasse at the top where it says bridge and staircases.

Having said all that, I'm sure that @jamibann would think the whole thing a bit of a doddle. :-)

I love maps too!
This gives a great perspective of your walk & photos.
Is the rim walk one way? Or can you start at either end?

@leggzy It is one way only to do the whole walk. They obviously don't want two way traffic on the steps on the climb up the ridge. So once you start up, you have to go the whole way around.

The other alternative is to start at the other end and do the South Wall Return Walk which takes you up a more gentle but longer slope to the South Wall Lookout and then the One Way Gate at the top where you have to turn around and go back the way you came up.

Oh my! This is perfect to help us understand your’s and Rhoda’s walk.

WOW -- that was quite a challenge. I was impressed before, but now even more so.
