This week we are trying out new to us techniques. Painting on the bisque fired pottery bowls I made last year is very new to me!!
The science of pottery glazes fascinates me and my pottery friend let me experiment with applying iron oxide decorations, some of which I waxed so that it won't get affected by the pale glaze I dipped it into.
The glaze was frozen solid when we brought it indoors, but it's now been applied and the bowls are going into the kiln this afternoon. I might be able to show you the end result next week.

Lovely textures and composition - nice storytelling too with the unfinished pot as the focus and the glazed pottery holding the brushes ncely blurred in the background
I like the simplicity of the design and the neutral colors - at least now. I know glaze has a way of coming alive when it's fired. Can't wait to see it after it's run through the kiln.
Thank you so much for your comments, the bright sun, and harsh shadows, made it difficult to make the photo, but I'm not moaning, so nice to have sun!!!
Interesting take on the challenge...opens it so much! I see so much I like in this image...the perspective with the tools in the background and that they are lower than the pot...the color of the table you've placed this on...Such a lovely subject and so many good details in the scene.
