A church on every corner... by thewatersphotos

A church on every corner...

Well, not really, but they are prominent in the downtown. There are three within the downtown. This is the First United Methodist and takes up more than a quarter of one block. Interestingly both the Methodist and Baptist churches are all painted brick that is white.
Some have asked about the people. Our county has a very significant outbreak of coronovirus and it is mandatory to wear masks. These photos are midmorning so there are few people in town.
Nice POV. That is a very large church building. Nice architectural accents. I bet those stained glass windows are gorgeous.

I was raised Presbyterian, but joined the Methodist church as a young adult. I’d love to see that church. It looks beautiful.

A lovely church. I guess that there's not a lot of traffic around a lot of churches these days.

This is a well balanced architectural presentation. Unfortunate to be a hot spot for the virus but good that people are attending to safeguards like masks.

What a grand building! Very beautiful. Stay safe. If you stick to the masks and distancing and handwashing, I always think all should be well.

@k9photo Thanks! I made several angles but liked this the best. I do have one of the doors that I liked, also. :- )
I've not been in to see the stained glass. That sounds like another project!

@carolmactx Thanks! I have never actually been in this church. May have to venture in, with permission, of course.

@randystreat Thanks! I'm not sure if they are having live services, yet. A few churches are beginning to have people return. Our church has begun live services with about 50 - 60 people in a building that can seat 350. Temperatures are taken, masks are "suggested" and spacing is fixed by the chairs and reduced rows.

This is a wonderful building

@thewatersphotos I don't feel the need to attend a live service and go through all that folderol. I get most of what I require watching online.

@zambianlass Thank you. I did think it was lovely.
July 27th, 2020
@randystreat I have to agree. I've been to only two or three services when I had to serve.
