Book Club Day by tinley23

Book Club Day

8pm to 9pm on the last Friday in the month is reserved for Book Club. It’s an online chat (no zooming etc) so no real pressure. This month’s book was Lost Dog by Kate Spicer, and here I am sitting on the bed with the book and my dog. Sadly it doesn’t seem to have been a very popular book this month.
What a great idea.
we have a few book club groups here, but they are all get-together ones and not online.

Pity the book wasn't very popular, what did you think of it?

What a great idea. Did you enjoy the book?

That's so cool, Lesley!

Great shot covering the last hour or so. I didn't enjoy the book, hopefully next months will be better

Rosie doesn’t look very inspired either.

@onewing @rensala I think overall I did, though there were many pages that I struggled with. I gave it 3/5 stars.

If you’re interested in the group and you have access to FB, it would be really good to see you there.

@wakelys Haha fast asleep

@kjarn Next month’s is The Giver of Stars which I read a few months ago, and enjoyed. Hope I can remember it enough to join in the discussion at the end of February.

I think that's the March book. February is The Paper Palace

@kjarn Ooh I got them the wrong way round. Thanks for that! I hadn’t realised you were already part of the group. Awesome!

It was you who put me on to it some months ago. Being in Australia its sometimes hard to get to the discussion in real time but this month I made it. I'm Kate Oz on Facebook

@kjarn Aha! I’m glad that you made it. I do like how relaxed and non-intrusive it is, and that we can go back and read/add posts later if we can’t make it on the day. Nice to meet you in person - sort of :)

It's nice to be part of it. Nice to "meet" you too

A great way to do book club, without having to drive anywhere. I don't know this book. I hope you enjoyed it.
January 27th, 2023
What a great idea, it sure must be fun too.
January 28th, 2023
Great idea! I only realised that the dog and book were in the photo when I looked at it large. Nicely done. I hope you enjoyed the book even if it wasn't too popular.
January 28th, 2023
A good thing to do.
January 28th, 2023
Lovely shot. I like the idea of presenting a book on a chat site where you can decide which books to read and which not to. When I go to bed it is straight to sleep.
January 28th, 2023
A nice hobby to have, must admit I don’t get to read too many books, just to busy crafting!
January 28th, 2023
Book club sounds like fun
January 28th, 2023
What a great idea. Has it always been on line or was it since lockdown.
January 28th, 2023
How neat! And a fun composition
January 29th, 2023
@carole_sandford It started during lockdown so it’s always been online. There are around 50 members now but only a dozen or so actively participate on club night. Time zones, work/childcare commitments restrict others from the 8pm meet up, but quite a few add their comments afterwards. It really works well.

Way to go. Enjoy it!!
