As it happens we did get free beer as my son’s dog, who we were looking after, knocked over Dirk’s drink. We were mortified as it had gone all over the seat but the lovely barman brought Dirk a new pint (free of charge) and mopped up the spillage. Such a nice guy and friendly atmosphere in the pub. If you ever find yourself in Thame, the James Figg is the place to be.
