A shy château because its name simply means detatched house or, more probably in this case, a (Hunting) Lodge but, as you can see, it's rather more grand than that.
This one does have some history attached as during WW2 it was recquisitioned by German High Command as the Command HQ for western France. Beneath the courtyard, covered in several metres of bomb-proof concrete, lies the communication centre which still today is crammed with old-fashioned telephone switchboards. The house was given back to its owners at the end of the war.
@lab4693@tosee@joeyc@hinkkd@mikeswaja Thanks all and there is a another little story to this shot. Today was manic busy (and tomorrow will be the same) but I managed to find 20 minutes at lunchtime to go and photograph this château. At 3.00pm I opened the NEX 7 to take the memory card out and process the shot... NO MEMORY CARD- !!&*@$+. Back out to the car for a second visit and all was well the second time... except that the light wasn't as nice. Don't you just love this hobby?
A pleasing composition, and I like the later afternoon light and shadow in this shot. Thank you for the follow, we are following you in return, and looking forward to seeing more of your shots.
