This was a great challenge because I found - I am finding - it to be the most difficult thing I have tried to do so far in photography. sure, I know all the theory, but picking up your camera and trying to get a shot is something else again!
I'm so not happy with this shot, but I wanted to post something for the challenge I received, so, for now (I still have 2 days left) this is my best answer to Trinda's challenge.
PS: You wouldn't believe how excited French motorists can get after they pass somebody at the side of the road with a camera pointed in their direction!
@trinda Hi Trinda - thanks for this challenge which has cerainly pushed me. Sure, I know all the theory about action shots and panning... but the reality is rather more difficult. I am far from happy with this shot, but - for now - it's my response to your challenge. Thank you for for forcing me to take a new look at my photography.
This shot reminds me of the tilt-shift effect, where the subject of the image appears to be in miniature. Good shot. I too find panning shots difficult.
Richard, I'm glad you took the challenge. I think you got an interesting shot out of this. You did the small aperture, and the low iso, and still got super detail on the truck. Love France! Fun command. My car license says "Loveart"
@trinda Thank you Trinda for pushing me. I ended up with just 6 useable shots out of 259 and I chose this one for the logo. The 'crispness' of the lorry owes more to the processing I gave it than to my steady hand! You, on the other hand, came up trumps with a fabulous response to your challenge.
