I quite often have to go out to meetings in the evenings and it's not unusual for them to run over time. Sometimes, like tonight, the weather is miserable too. At the time I'm due home Mrs S switches on the outside light which I can see from several hundred metres away as the road emerges from the forest. The closer I get to home, the brighter the light becomes, like a little beacon leading me home. Finally I turn into our lane and the terrace leading to the front door is lit with golden welcoming light: Mrs S's car parked outside confirms that she is home and waiting for me. Yes, this is one of my most favourite views...
Nice on black if you have the time.
I've tagged this ntmc: this image taken with the little Sony RX100M3, handheld at 1/4 sec and ISO 3200.
This is lovely as is but as you said it is even nicer against black. You captured the miserable weather conditions and also the welcoming light guiding you home. fav
@joansmor The B&W one is on restricted access so most people won't see it and, yes, I prefer that one too as a photograph, but the warmth of this colour one matches the warm glow I feel inside as I arrive home. It was actually raining heavens hard when I took this, but it's not apparent.
I love this, great photo and beautiful sentiment. It looks very good on the black as you've suggested. Great line and light, textures and warms and good vibes.
I'm feeling warm and happy to be cozy in my home just now. Very evocative words and photo. The critter is waiting out for you in the rain??? that's love indeed.
@francoise@joansmor No Françoise, Mitzi was inside in the warm - there is a white plant-pot by the front-door and I guess Joan thought that was Mitzi. Time to book an appointment with your occulist Joan? ;-)
Great shot, and a fantastic story behind it too.
