@francoise Ah-ha - the exploits of Lyra from the first book in Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy which was published under the title 'Northern Lights' in the UK. An interesting and controversial inversion of John Milton's 'Paradise Lost' - I hope you will go on to read the other two books in the trilogy. As an aside, I'm not surprised that Lyra's character appeals to you - you have much in common I think.
