You will perhaps have gathered from the picture of the Town Hall that I posted yesterday, that the Mayor of St.Méen le Grand and his council take a rather avant-garde view of what their town should look like. Traffic enters the Town Hall square via a small roundabout which is crowned with this magnificent sculpture. It is difficult to get an uncluttered view of the sculpture (the base is not shown here) because it is surrounded on all sides by three or four storey buildings. Together, Photoshop and I managed to do a reasonable job I think - I lay down in the road for this angled shot looking up at the ducks and PS did the rest (I pushed the buttons!).
There is another wonderful sculpture by the Town Hall of man sized sea-horses in a fountain but again the background is very cluttered. I think I might have to visit in the early hours of the morning after the street lighting is turned off and light it with short range flash... not for tomorrow though I think!
I do like this sculpture! Thank you for sharing it with us! I also love that you lay right down in the street to get it! I find myself in lots of odd places (some not so safe, honestly) to get the shot I want. Great job on this one... PS is a great tool but it takes a lot of wisdom to know how to use it correctly! *Fav for me.
it looks like the ducks are either diving bombing the ball or yearning unrequitedly for something in the ball but held back. In any event, a very dynamic sculpture (and picture thereof).
