Thank you for your comments and Favs on yesterday's image. I deliberated for a long time between the colour version I posted and a B&W treatment. I still feel that this building looks good in B&W so here's a B&W capture of this lovely old building from a different viewpoint. The textures of the buildings, sky, water and foliage are even more evident on black. Both versions are fascinating... no wonder you struggle between the two.
This monochrome and tighter focus has a totally different feel and aspect. The emphasis is more on the building and it's tones and texture, not quite the same pastoral feeling, even the clouds. more drama. well done Richard

I like the b&w but something about the colours in the surrounding scenery seems to complement the architecture
